Graduation ceremonies set for seniors

The South Kitsap School District will hold graduation exercises for three schools.

Explorer Academy will conduct graduation starting at 7 p.m. June 6, at the South Kitsap High School Theatre. Graduates will report at 5:45 p.m. and doors open at 6:45 p.m. Refreshments will follow the ceremony in the SKHS Commons.

On June 9, Discovery Alternative High School will graduate its senior class with a 7 p.m. ceremony at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, 7700 Skansie Ave., Gig Harbor.

Graduation for South Kitsap High School seniors is 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Tacoma Dome.

Approximately 556 seniors are expected to receive their diplomas. This year’s valedictorian is Hue C. Purkett and the salutatorian is Shawn M. Brookins.

To avoid traffic, bridge toll and parking fees, seniors can park and ride a bus one-way or round-trip to the ceremony. Bus tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the ASB office. The buses will depart at 4 p.m. from the north parking lot of SKHS.
