Deal hired as executive director for state Democrats

SEATTLE — The Washington State Democrats announced today that they have hired Karen Deal as executive director.

“We're excited about bringing someone on board with Karen's background and experience. Not only does she understand the issues and values that are the foundation of the work we do, but she has a broad network of partners and allies and knows how to get things done,” stated Chair Jaxon Ravens in a news release.

As executive director, Deal will work with the chair and party officers, oversee programmatic activities of the party, help manage the party’s political and election activities, and assist with fundraising activities.

Deal comes to the Washington State Democratic Party from the Washington State Labor Council, where she worked as political director.
