Youth mental health first aid classes set

BREMERTON — A nationally acclaimed Youth Mental Health First Aid course will be offered August 12-13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Olympic Educational Service District, 105 National Avenue N.

The course is taught by Kitsap Mental Health Services staff certified as instructors through the national MHFA program.

A 5-step process is used to assess a situation, select and implement appropriate interventions, and to help an individual connect with appropriate care.

Cost for the 8 hour training is $45, registration is required by Aug. 5. To register on-line, go to www.oesd.wednet.edu or call Don Jacobs, 360-405-5801.
