Services planned for teen who died Sunday
April 25, 2009 · Updated 11:46 AM
Authorities investigating the death of a 15-year-old Southworth Drive girl regard the circumstances as unexpected, but not necessarily suspicious.
Kitsap Sheriff's Department spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said Heather Marie Stanford died at a home.
Her body was discovered by deputies after someone called 911 at 10:50 a.m. on April 19.
Wilson said his office was “not labeling the death as suspicious,” and said it could only be classified as unexpected, given that the teen did not have an “immediate health crisis.”
He said the Kitsap County Coroner’s Office was awaiting toxicology reports to determine cause and manner of death.
According to an obituary posted on the Tuell McKee funeral home Web site, services for Stanford are scheduled April 25 at Evergreen Baptist Church, 5775 SE Sedgwick Rd, at 11 a.m.
Another service is scheduled there on May 9, also at 11 a.m.
Stanford was a John Sedgwick Junior High School student and the daughter of Edward Stanford of Port Orchard, and Christine Stanford of Yakima.
