A crowd of around 300 gathered on Monday morning at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard to pay tribute to the nation's war dead.

The annual Memorial Day tribute, sponsored by VFW Post 2669 and American Legion Post 30 in Port Orchard, featured a parade of colors, an address from retired U.S. Navy Chaplain Cmdr. Jerome Turner, a rifle salute and taps played by buglers Wayne Matz and Tom Morrow.
