Woman arrested for drunk driving after hitting utility pole

A 26-year-old Tacoma woman was arrested for drunk driving after hitting a utility pole on Horstman Road, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the incident report, the suspect was driving a 2008, White Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound on Horstman Road near Foss Road when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole around 9:30 p.m.
When deputies contacted the driver, they noted a strong smell of intoxicants, and the driver reportedly admitted that she had been drinking earlier at a bar on Mile Hill Drive.
After the suspect volunteered to perform sobriety tests and displayed difficulty standing upright, deputies placed her under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving.
She was booked into Kitsap County Jail under $5,000 bail.
