Same-sex marriage backers waging a stealth campaign here in Washington

For the Independent

Sadly, the two homosexual “marriage” bills that so many of us testified against on Feb. 5 were passed out of their respective House and Senate committees during executive sessions a week later.

The bills now move to the House and Senate Rules Committees for consideration. The Rules Committees consider all bills reported from policy and fiscal committees and determine whether, and in what order, to schedule their consideration for floor action (voting) on the House or Senate.

Swift passage out of the Rules Committees for the gay-marriage bills (SB 5688 and HB 1727) is highly likely, given the current Democratic Party leadership’s unabashed support for the bills and their far superior numbers in both houses.

What this means is that we could see a floor vote on these bills within two weeks.

So now is the time to take the gloves off and turn up the heat.

If you haven’t done so already, you need to immediately contact your legislators and the governor via e-mail or by calling the legislative hotline at (800) 562-6000 to tell them no on the same-sex marriage bills, which for all intents and purposes would legalize gay marriages in the state of Washington.

The hotline is accessible daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

We’re experiencing a nearly complete media blackout on this issue. Fortunately, this organization is linking arms with several other like-minded groups to get the word out to many thousands of households around the state who want to protect the institution of marriage for this generation and those to come.

I have personally spent nearly two hours on various radio stations this past week as we do all we can to tell an unsuspecting public about Olympia’s latest assault on our values.

Don’t count on your local newspaper or TV stations to tell you about these terrible bills. They are simply ignoring the gay marriage issue because so many of the media professionals come from the culture of modern elitist liberalism, and they want these bills to pass.

They know that the easiest way to sneak one by the people is to do so when they are sleeping. Why would they want to wake us up?

Tell your neighbors and tell your friends to pick up their phone now and make the call now or send the e-mail or write the letter to the editor. We simply cannot allow these society poisoning bills to be signed into law.

It is time to pull out the stops.

For any slackers out there who are yawning about gay-marriage and wondering what the big deal is, consider the following:

• If same-sex marriage becomes the law in Washington, every public school will be forced to teach that same-sex “marriage” and homosexuality are perfectly normal — “Heather has Two Mommies” in K-12. Pictures in textbooks will be changed to show same-sex couples as normal.

• In a few short months after legalizing same-sex “marriage” in Canada, activists there successfully passed C-250, a bill criminalizing public statements against homosexuality, punishable by up to two years in prison

Say the wrong thing, go to jail. The same will happen here in Washington.

• Churches in Washington state will be legally pressured to perform same-sex weddings.

• Any private schools receiving government money or services of any sort will be wide open to having their curriculums reviewed by ACLU lawyers looking for discrimination and civil rights violations.

Just last week in Olympia, House Judiciary Chairman and homosexual State Rep. Jamie Pedersen (D-Seattle) would not support an amendment to his bill (HB 1727) that would prohibit a student from attending or participating in a public school-sponsored class, program, or activity dealing with or regarding same-sex relationship unless the student’s parent has been previously notified and approved of the student’s attendance or participation.

So there you have it, residents of Washington state. The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee opposes notifying you when gay relationships are to be taught as perfectly normal behavior, and opposes allowing your children to opt out of classes when it is being taught.

Is there any doubt that the homosexuals are hell-bent on propagandizing our children?

My friends, if you think your children are safe in a private school or even home school, think again.

If liberal legislators are allowed to continue down this path, it will be flat-out illegal to speak out the truth against homosexual marriage or the dangerous homosexual lifestyle in this state very soon under expanded civil rights laws and laws dealing with hate crimes and discrimination.

We can no longer afford to sit idly on our hands and do nothing. It is time to wake up.

We must either stop these radicals right here and now in Olympia in the next few weeks or face them down with a costly and labor-intensive referendum or initiative effort this spring and summer.
