With your help, Bluegrass Festival will be back

The Olalla Blluegrass Festival Planning Committee wants to thank the Port Orchard Independent because the 19th annual festival will be bigger and better than ever thanks to your support.

Back in the fall, it was reported in the Independent that our volunteer base had dried up and we would be shutting down unless a new group of supporters stepped up.

And they did,

As a result, this year’s festival will feature the Paperboys, numerous national acts, wonderful family friendly vendors and local community groups.

And to thank the community for its support, we’re sponsoring a special benefit concert on July 30 at the Olalla Community Club at 7:30 p.m. highlighting the Blackberry Bushes and Shannon Stephens, indie-folk-bluegrass performers known across the country. Suggested donations are $10 at the door.

In addition, on Aug. 21, we will be attending the South Kitsap School District back-to-school event and reaching out to all SKSD families by offering free children and student passes to the festival at our booth.

We are so excited to be back bigger and better than ever.

Again, thank you for getting the word out for the “little festival that could.”
