Thanks to Port voters

To the editor:

I would like to extend my sincere Thank You to the voters of the Bremerton Port District, as well as the individuals who assisted me in the campaign for Port Commissioner.

I am proud to live in Kitsap County and will be very proud to represent the hardworking families and citizens who reside her. I will work hard for the best interest of our community.

Bremerton Port Commissioner-elect Axel Strakeljahn

Roundabout not a priority

To the editor:

So you have your $800,000 roundabout at Lake Flora Road and Dickenson Road. Sure is a lot of money that could have been spent somewhere in the county where it was really needed. True, we might have needed this roundabout in ten or twenty years.

The elected officials priorities are not always the priorities of the citizens they represent.

The money could have been better spent on other locations such as the Bethel Road Corridor, Pottery Road or Tremont Road (just to name a few.)

Couldn’t a “Reduce Speed” sign have been used at Lake Flora Road and Dickenson Road? This would have cost taxpayers a few hundred dollars.
