Commissioners, please reduce budget

It’s a shame that Kitsap County has a prosecutor that is constantly spending the taxpayers’ money over and over trying to prosecute the executive director (Marcus Carter) of the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club, especially when he has been aquitted three times in court after being charged by Prosecutor Russ Hauge.

A recent public records request shows that Hauge has spent over $338,000 pursuing personal vendettas at the expense of the local taxpayers.

It’s time that the county stop financing this foolish legal action that the prosecutor’s office keeps pursing.

I am asking the Kitsap County commissioners – Josh Brown, Robert Gelder and Charlotte Garrido — to cut the prosecutor’s budget at least $50,000 per year for the next seven years starting in 2014.

This reduced budget will help makeup for the wasted taxpayers’ dollars for the past decade trying to prosecute Carter and the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club.

Let’s cut the nonsense. Enough is enough.
