Saints Car Club helps South Kitsap Helpline

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas basket giveaways, the Saints Car Club had 19 members or more that worked each day with South Kitsap Helpline.

The volunteers distributed food, toys and Christmas trees to needy families in the community. The club collected 1,130 pounds of canned goods. The club volunteered more than 500 hours in the cause.

Special recognition to Jerry Newland and other club members who personally donated money to Helpline on behalf of the club, along with Don Carstenson who donated more than 130 Christmas trees and Ron Weeks who worked each day and also coordinated the participation of the club.

A total of 53,250 people were served during the holiday season.

The Saints Car Club was established in the 1950s to promote the interest in building and restoring street rods and other classic vehicles. The club’s mission is to support charitable organizations in the community such as SK Helpline.
