Litter ruining otherwise beautiful Rotary Park

On April 16, we took our two young grandchildren to the downtown Port Orchard Rotary Park, joining other children with moms and grandparents enjoying the park in the sunshine.

We were surrounded by cigarette butts. Butts were stuffed in spaces between the picnic table boards, under the tables and in the landscaping and walking paths.

Everywhere we looked we saw butts.

I observed a grandma throw her cigarette on the ground when she finished smoking.

A littered environment is uninviting, disgusting and inexcusable.

Our park is a gift from the local Rotarions.

Keeping it clean would be a gift from the public.
