Bike shop needs your assistance to help others

I wanted to recognize a special person in the Kitsap area — Fred Karakas, the owner of Olympic Bike and Skate in downtown Port Orchard.

A lot of people in the Port Orchard area know him. He does great work and keeps his prices low.

His store is filled to the top with bikes. From the three years I have lived here, he has repaired a lot of bikes but people keep bringing him more and more.

What he does is take in people’s old bikes and repairs them for African communities.

What he does is a great volunteering effort to help people less fortunate.

I am writing to you because he has become overwelmed with bikes to fix for his cause.

From what I heard, his store has been in this type of turmoil for years.

He just does not have the time to take care of customers and fix these bikes for Africans.

I would like your paper to run an ad and maybe get something together for people to give him a helping hand on getting his store back in order.

There are very few bike stores in the Kitsap area, and I feel he is the best one I have been to.

I don’t know much about bikes and I’m not able to repair them myself, but if enough people know about his cause and have the resources, the community can make a difference.
