Wolves blanked again in soccer match | Sports briefs

South Kitsap was held scoreless for a third consecutive girls soccer match, but this time the Wolves could not contain their opponent in a 3-0 loss Tuesday night against Gig Harbor in a Class 4A Narrows League match.

South (3-1-2 overall, 1-1-2 league), which had consecutive 0-0 ties last week at Central Kitsap and Bellarmine Prep, allowed the Tides’ Kate Frame to score in the 18th and 31st minutes. Goalkeeper Aubrey Lindberg earned the shutout for Gig Harbor (5-0-0, 4-0-0).

South Kitsap sweeps Yelm for second straight victory

South Kitsap won all five of its matches for the first time this season Tuesday at Yelm in 4A Narrows League play.

The Wolves (6-2 overall, 4-2 league) have just a couple of matches remaining before the league championships are held Oct. 19-20.
