June 12, 2008 · Updated 1:49 PM
A pair of long touchdown runs by Steven Warner and Demetrius Bronson helped lead Kentwood to a 21-19 win against South Kitsap in the season opener for both teams at French Field in Kent.
Bronson's 68-yard yard run with 3 minutes, 6 seconds left in the game essentially ended any comeback hopes for the Wolves as it put them down 21-12. The University of Washington commit finished with 168 yards on 10 carries.
South, which has its home opener Friday against Narrows League rival North Kitsap, was led by Stephen Tucker's 198 yards on 33 carries.
