The BREEZE 16U select girls fastpitch team took third place in the Valley Invitational College Exposure Tournament held June 14-15 in Hillsboro, Ore.

The BREEZE went 4-3 to place third in its 16-team division, as pitcher Kali Butler notched three wins, while Kristin Stephens picked up a win with a five-hit shutout.

Closer Hallie Macarty was four-for-four in save opportunities for the Port Orchard fastpitch team.

B.B. Booher paced the offense with 10 hits, including a home run, and eight RBIs, while Kirstie Cosgrove collected 10 hits and drove in seven. Jessie Sannino and Jocylynn Meadows each added eight hits for the BREEZE with Monique Morey and Trish Tremper chipping in 4 RBI apiece.

Brianna McGinnis and Leah Stevens were strong in the outfield, while Tara Higgins anchored the infield turning a key double play in the title game.

The Valley Invitational is the premier Pacific Northwest College Exposure Tournament, featuring 116 teams and 78 college coaches and scouts in attendance.

The BREEZE, now 33-9 on the year, return to action this weekend in defense of its state championship title in Tacoma.
