SKHS to offer

wrestling camp

Wrestlers from first to 10th grade are eligible to participate in the June 2-6 camp at South Kitsap High School. The camp runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day in the school’s mat room.

The camp is $65 and it can be paid in advance at the high school ASB office or at the door June 2. Contact South wrestling coach Chad Nass at 874-5730 for more information.

star earns acclaim

Linfield junior Brittany Miller was one of four Wildcats named to the Louisville Slugger all-West Region first team.

Miller, who had a 17-2 record this year, earned her third all-West Region selection. She was voted Northwest Conference pitcher of the year for the second time in her career and had 184 strikeouts in 134 innings with a 1.15 ERA.

She graduated from South in 2005 and was a four-year letter winner for the Wolves.

Max Sinko had a two-run triple and Austin Littlewolf had two hits to lead Evergreen.

On the mound, Cooper Canton and Jonathan Low combined for 11 strikeouts and allowed only one walk.

Paul Thresher ended the game by recording an unassisted double play to preserve the win for Wiley’s.

Chad Mathes had two hits, including a double, while A.J. Nolan, who had eight consecutive strikeouts, and Josiah O’Neal allowed two runs on the mound for Wiley’s.
