Gilbert lifts SK past Roughriders

Megan Gilbert scored a season-high 22 points, including the game winner with just :02 seconds left Wednesday night, to lead the South Kitsap girls basketball team to a 56-54 Narrows League Bridge Division win over Port Angeles.
Gilbert took a charge just minutes before her game winner to help keep the Wolves in the game. The win keeps South tied for third in league play. The top four teams advance to the Narrows League Tournament.
SK guard Schelsey Zimmerman, who nailed three 3-pointers in the game on her way to nine points, fed Gilbert the ball for her winning shot.
The Wolves Morgan Wiggin added 13.
South, now 19-5 overall and 6-3 in league play, is at Gig Harbor Friday.
