Wolves one step away from perfect regular season
The top-ranked and undefeated South Kitsap boys basketball team remained just that Wednesday night, rolling over Olympic 99-43.
All 13 Wolves scored in the blowout win, including four in double figures, led by Derrick Webb's game-high 19 points.
Jamil Moore netted 11, Josh Monagle went for 14 while Ryan Sweet came off the bench to score 16.
The win moves South to 19-0 overall and 13-0 in Narrows League Bridge Division play.
The Wolves, who have already wrapped up the league title, traveled to Silverdale late Friday to face Central Kitsap in the regular season finale.
South will play Foss Feb. 19 in Bremerton in the Narrows League crossover game.
The teams will move on from there to the West Central District Tournament as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds.

The South Kitsap girls team clinched the fourth and final spot in the Bridge Division with a 62-30 win over Olympic.
South, 11-8 overall and 7-6 in league, plays host to Central Kitsap Friday to close out the regular season.
The Wolves were led by Schelsey Zimmerman who scored a game-high 16 points while Morgan Wiggin added and Jamie Boyer added 10 each.
Morgan Gilbert, the team's leading scorer sat out the game due to academic ineligibility.
The Wolves will face either Capital or Olympia Feb. 18 in Bremerton in the Narrows League cross-over game. The winner moves on to the West Central District Tournament as the Narrows No. 7 seed while the loser is done for the year.

South's 2005 football schedule almost finalized: South Kitsap will open the 2005 football season on Monday, Sept. 5 against Class 3A Mercer Island in the Emerald City Kickoff Classic at Qwest Field in Seattle.
The Wolves, who were 4-6 last year, will face off against Mercer Island, 2-8, in the showcase 8 p.m. slot. South was originally selected to play Wenatchee in the 5:30 p.m. game.
The only game still tentative is the week two matchup with Bellevue, the four-time Class 3A state champs. The Bellevue game has been scheduled for Sept. 9 in Port Orchard but could be moved to Sept. 10 to accommodate Souths short first week.
The Wolves will host home games against Shelton (Sept. 23), Olympic (Oct. 7) and Gig Harbor (Oct. 14). Road games for the Wolves include Port Angeles (Sept. 16), North Kitsap (Sept. 30), Central Kitsap (Oct. 21) and Bremerton (Oct. 28).
The Wolves homecoming game is Oct. 7 against Olympic.
