Wolves run the table, finish league play unbeaten
Derrick Webb scored 20 points while his teammates dominated the glass as the No. 1 ranked South Kitsap boys basketball team completed the regular season without a loss, downing Central Kitsap 77-59 Friday night.
The win moves the Wolves, the Narrows League Bridge Division champs, to a perfect 20-0 on the year. South finished league play at 14-0. Central finished up 12-8 and 9-5.
With the teams tied at 36 at halftime, South broke the game open with a 17-3 run to begin the third quarter and led 61-46 entering the game's final period.
Besides getting 20 from Webb, the Wolves' Conner Gehring and Josh Monagle netted 14 each while Jamil Moore added 12. Neil Fryer paced with Cougars with a game-high 23 points while Trent Bearbower added 15.
South Kitsap will play Foss, the winners of the Narrows League Bay Division, Feb. 19 in Bremerton. The winner of that game will enter the West Central District tournament as the Narrows League No. 1 seed, the loser goes in as No. 2
Central Kitsap will play either Mount Tahoma or Bellarmine Prep next week in a cross-over seeding game as well.
