SK’s Steiger earns

all-state honors

South Kitsap junior Brady Steiger was named to the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association Class 4A first team.

Steiger, who had a .418 batting average, five home runs and 23 RBI, was the Narrows League Bridge Division MVP and has committed to Washington State University.

He was one of four West Sound players selected.

Outfielder Caleb Brown (Central Kitsap) also was selected at the 4A level, while second baseman Eric Lane (Port Angeles) and pitcher Riley Crow (Olympic) made the 3A team.

camp signups slated

John Callaghan and his coaching staff will hold a summer camp June 23-26 at South Kitsap High School.

Students in fourth through sixth grade compete on those days from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., while seventh through ninth graders work from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The camps are developed to teach individual development of fundamental skills and terminology used by the Wolves.

Registration is limited to the first 50 students in each camp.

Both camps are $50.
