• Overview: After sitting out last season because of transfer rules, 6-foot, 180-pound sophomore Jordan Kitna has taken over as the Abes’ starting quarterback. Kitna has guided an offense with several returning starters to an average of 43.7 points per game. Only Wilson (45.7) has averaged more points per game. The defense suffered a significant loss before the season when a knee injury sidelined linebacker Justiss Warren for the year, but the Abes allow a league-low 7.7 points per game. Lincoln, which last defeated South 26-13 on Nov. 5, 2010, has not advanced to the state playoffs in a decade. Lincoln lost 36-29 in the 2003 4A state quarterfinals.
