Kitna has guided an offense with several returning starters to an average of 43.7 points per game. Only Wilson (45.7) has averaged more points per game. The defense suffered a significant loss before the season when a knee injury sidelined linebacker Justiss Warren for the year, but the Abes allow a league-low 7.7 points per game. Lincoln, which last defeated South 26-13 on Nov. 5, 2010, has not advanced to the state playoffs in a decade. Lincoln lost 36-29 in the 2003 4A state quarterfinals.
