SPORTS BRIEFS | Rain washes away early South Kitsap momentum
TACOMA — Drew Camacho hit a home run to open the game, but it will not count as South Kitsap’s nonleague game Tuesday at Wilson was called in the second inning because of rain.
The Wolves had a 3-1 lead with one out when the contest was halted. Kendall Clauson, Hannah Spohn and Shelby Reyes opened the second inning with three consecutive hits and the first two scored runs. Darian Grimm scored the Rams’ lone run.
But none of those statistics will count as the game will not be resumed. Because it is a nonleague contest, South coach Jessica Cabato said she won’t plan to reschedule the game. South (3-2 overall, 0-2 league) lost 12-2 on Monday against Olympia in a Class 4A Narrows League contest.
