Overview: Bellarmine Prep was hit hard by graduations, losing quarterback Lucas Schindele, who had nearly 1,900 yards of total offense and rushed for 15 touchdowns. He was one of four first-team, all-Narrows League players the Lions were forced to replace. Schindele was succeeded by Miller, who is another run-first quarterback. Miller has rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns on 44 carries. The Lions run the ball about 70 percent of the time, and favor a short passing game when they throw. Michael Rector has a team-high 188 yards on 17 receptions. But the biggest threat might be Rhett, who has 120 yards and two touchdowns on just six receptions. Bellarmine Prep has only played two games against teams in the top half of the Narrows League. The Lions lost 42-14 in the second week of the season at Central Kitsap, but played better in a 24-17 loss Sept. 25 against Gig Harbor. South beat both of those teams.
