Season wraps up for South Kitsap spikers
South Kitsap’s volleyball team was eliminated for the Narrows League Tournament after a 25-15, 25-27, 25-23, 25-14 loss Saturday against Wilson.
Mallory Horch had seven kills and a block, while Tonya Forster added five kills. Brittany Stepper had six assists, three aces and two blocks and Angela Romonsky finished with 18 digs. Megan Ransier also had seven assists for the Wolves, who finished with a 5-12 record.
South also lost 25-16, 25-13, 25-13 in its tournament opener Oct. 29 against Gig Harbor. Horch had six kills, Stepper finished with nine assists and Romonsky added 18 digs.
Army-Navy rugby game
The eighth annual Army-Navy rugby game is Nov. 21 and Kitsap will play host. The Kitsap Rugby Football Union is actively seeking military players (Navy, Marine or Coast Guard — active duty or reservist) who would like to be on the Navy team for this event. KRFU is developing a Navy team specifically for this event and practices from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the upper softball fields on Naval Base Kitsap.
